LLTRB in the news

I’ve alluded to this a bit in earlier posts, the fact that this recipe box project is just naturally gaining momentum in recent months. Sure, I do find myself unable to stop talking about it, with friends, on social media, etc.—that’s likely part of it! Some days I worry about being a bit tiresome going on and on about it all. Though I’m finding that a lot of the energy also comes from a range of unexpected places, which I love. It helps me understand how broadly this topic resonates with folks. That I’m not the only one so deeply nostalgic about and appreciative of the recipes from my mom and others that make up my recipe collection.

One such example of that unexpected connection came in early December when I got an email message from a producer at KING5 television here in Seattle. She’d seen one of those very many posts about cherished recipes and reached out to see if I might be interested in doing a segment with her for Evening Magazine.

It was such a delightful surprise to hear that no only did the topic mean something to her personally, with her own recipe box treasures from her grandmother—she felt sure it would be of interest to many of their viewers too. I can’t say how much it warmed my heart to hear that, and how much it encourages me to continue going along for this ride and see where the Long Live the Recipe Box path ends up taking me.

Here’s a link to that segment, which aired earlier this month.
